Connect a condition with its usual result.
1. Grammar: Zero conditional: if + present, present
Use if + present simple, present simple for things that usually happen or are generally true. Both parts use the present, even when the sentence describes a result. Begin with the if part and add a comma, or put the result first without a comma. Keep using -s with he/she/it.
- If + present, + present. → If I am tired, I rest.
- If it rains, I take an umbrella.
- I take an umbrella if it rains.
- What do you do if you are hungry? → If I am hungry, I eat.
