Food shopping

Ask about shopping habits, needs, and likes.

1. Grammar: Present simple: do/does and negatives

Ask Do + I/you/we/they + base verb? or Does + he/she/it + base verb? Use do not (don’t) or does not (doesn’t) before the base verb for negatives. After does/doesn’t, do not add -s to the main verb.

Model conversation

A: Do you buy fruit here?

B: Yes, I do. I buy apples.

A: Do you need milk?

B: No, I don’t. I need bread.
