Clothing

Describe clothes you own and clothes you need.

1. Grammar: Have/has and this/these

Use have with I/you/we/they and has with he/she/it. Questions and negatives use do/does + have. Use this is for one nearby item and these are for more than one. Put a color before a noun: a blue shirt. Use a/an with one countable item; shoes and trousers are plural.

Model conversation

A: Do you have a coat?

B: Yes, I do. I have a black coat.

A: Does your friend have a coat?

B: No, she doesn’t. She has a jacket.

2. Basic words and verbs

Say each word, read its meaning, and make a sentence using the example.

4. Say it again

Choose three questions and answer again without the starters. Use at least three words from the word bank. Your partner can listen for the grammar pattern, then help you repeat the sentence.
