A: Good morning! Can I see your passport and booking reference, please?
B: Of course — here you go. I'm on the 10:45 flight to Barcelona.
A: Perfect. Would you like a window or aisle seat?
B: An aisle seat, please — if there's one available near the front.
A: I've got you in 14C. Are you checking any luggage today?
B: Yes, just this one bag. And can I ask — is the flight on time?
A: Yes, it's running on schedule. Boarding starts at gate 22 in about an hour.
B: Brilliant, thank you so much!

Natural Phrases to Know

At check-in

I'm on the [time] flight to [destination]. Could I have a window / aisle seat? I have one bag to check in. Is my flight on time? Can I upgrade to business class?

At security

Do I need to take my laptop out? Should I remove my shoes? Is this liquid allowed through? Sorry — I'll put that in the tray. Can I go through again?

At the gate

Is this the gate for [destination]? Has boarding started yet? Which group am I in? Is the flight delayed? Where are the toilets / shops from here?

If something goes wrong

My bag seems to be missing. I think I've missed my connection. Can you rebook me on the next flight? My luggage hasn't arrived. Where do I report a lost bag?
